Magnolia grandifolia
This print is created in an art workshop, signed, numbered and limited to 150 prints, from an original botanical watercolor : the magnolia is one of the world oldest flowering plants and it is in 1711 a boat landed at Paimboeuf a number of new plants from Louisiana. One of shrubs "Laurier tulip tree", is noted for its beautiful evergreen leaves, but considered too fragile to support our winter and it is housed in the Orangery of the Château. He stayed there 20 years and despite the care he enjoys, he just vegetate to the point that we gave the order to destroy it. But the gardener's wife opposes the condemnation and a few years later the tree produces its first flowers. Buddhist monks planted it around their temple as a symbol of purity. Today, the magnolia represents the love of nature, and the gaiety.
