This print is a fine art, signed, numbered & limited to 150 copies print, from a botanical watercolor original. Cabbages are vegetable plants originating in Europe in their wild form. Spontaneous on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts: its culture has been traced all over Europe for millennia. The Chinese first kept it in brine, the Huns and the Mongols brought it back to Eastern Europe, where its success spread throughout Europe. In the Middle Ages it became the staple food of the peasants of Europe long before the potato. The Renaissance also made much of it. The famous Milan sprouts probably come from Italy at this time. It is only recently, in Europe at least, that the consumption of cabbage decreases.
